“American Ancestor (formerly the New England Genealogical Society) was one of my earliest sites to search for New England ancestors in the mid 60’s. They offer a limited free service that gives access to records, educational videos, and publications. The paid service gives access to their abundance of digital and archive records from the 1600’s forward. We will look at different ways to search the many places for your early American families.”

Topic: Joining a Lineage Society
Speaker: Sharon Wolff
Lineage societies have weathered controversies and survived to become resources for their members, other genealogists and society at large through their work in preserving American heritage. Some societies have been active since the 18th century while others are just a few years old. The common denominator for lineage societies is the descent from a qualifying ancestor.
