Seminar Registration Is Now Open

Registration for the 15th Annual Hill Country Family History Seminar is now open. The date is Saturday, February 23, 2019.  Our speaker will be Cari Taplin.  Cari is a native of Wood County, Ohio, but migrated to Wyoming, Colorado, and then to Pflugerville, Texas, just outside of Austin.  She is a Certified Genealogist (CG) and has served in a wide variety of volunteer and leadership positions for state, local, and national genealogical societies.  She currently serves on the boards of the Association for Professional Genealogists (APG) and the Federation of Genealogical Societies (FGS).  As the owner of GenealogyPANTS, she provides speaking, research, and consultation services.

Be sure to visit our excellent research facility, The Family History Place.  We are located at 114 E. Blanco Street in Boerne, Texas.  We are happy to announce a new partnership between The Family History Place (FHP) and the Family History Center (FHC) of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS).  The FHC has relocated to the FHP at 114 E. Blanco Street.  This partnership has increased the number of free genealogical databases and websites available to all visitors, in addition to the ability to order films from the Family History Library in Salt Lake City.  We have also expanded our hours:
 
New Hours
Monday, 1 pm - 4 pm
Tuesday,  10 am - 4 pm
Wednesday,  10 am - 9 pm 
Thursday,  10 am - 9 pm
Friday,  10 am - 4 pm
Saturday and Sunday, closed 
If you are visiting from out of town, other hours can be arranged by appointment.
 
The research facility is open to the public and free.  Volunteers are available to assist you with your research questions and problems.

GENEALOGICAL SOCIETY of Kendall County’s Annual Awards and Christmas Social will be held Saturday, December 15th begining at 10:30 A.M.  Bring a favorite Christmas dish to share. All are welcome.

Monthly General Membership Meeting
Speaker:  Dean Sprowl and Paul Barwick Topic:  Historic Kendall County Jail Museum   Paul will give an interesting talk about the new museum that is being created at the Historic Kendall County Jail.  They will be speaking on the artifacts found in this area by Dean Sprowl and other artifacts which tell a story about our surrounding area.  Paul works for the City of Boerne and has spent many hours working with the Kendall County Historic Commission. ...
